Registration of Vital Records

The registration of vital
records is applicable solely
to Lebanese citizens.
Holders of Palestinian
travel documents can not
register their vital records
but can instead legalize
them. To check the procedure

Marriage
Please send the following documents to your nearest embassy/ consulate:
- Fill out a Marriage Application*

Original Marriage
Certificate plus one
notarized copy
- Husband/Wife Lebanese ID Card or a recent Individual Civil Registry Record (Ikhraj Kayd), plus two notarized copies.
- Spouse’s Birth Certificate (If he/she is not Lebanese) plus two notarized copies.

Divorce
Please send the following documents to your nearest embassy/ consulate:

Fill out a
Divorce Application*
- Original Divorce Decree
Translated into Arabic + One
notarized copy.
Husband/Spouse Lebanese ID
Card or a recent Family Civil
Registry Record (Ikhraj Kayd)
Lebanese Marriage
Certificate.
One notarized copy of
the Wife's Birth Certificate
(if she is not Lebanese).
Two Self-Stamped return
address envelope.
(NOT Fed-Ex, DHL, UPS or
other)
A money order of $15.00
(Payable to the Lebanese
Embassy) Registration Fee.
N.B.:
- Appoint a lawyer or a representative in Lebanon in order to finalize it with the Lebanese authorities.
- Include a copy of the aforementioned special power of attorney with your divorce application.
- Provide the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the name, address, and telephone number of your lawyer (or representative) in Lebanon, for them to get in touch with him.
Birth
Please send the following documents to your nearest embassy/ consulate:
- A filled out Birth Application*
- Original Birth
Certificate + One
notarized copy.
- Father's Lebanese ID
Card or a recent Family
Civil Registry Record
(Ikhraj Kayd).
- Mother's Lebanese ID
Card or Birth
Certificate (if she is
not Lebanese).
- Lebanese marriage
certificate of parents.

Note:
Kindly, enclose the original
passport of the deceased in
order to cancel it and
return it back to you.
Citizenship
After one year of
registering the marriage in
the vital statistics office
in Lebanon, the following
supporting documents are
required:

One copy of a recent family civil registry record (Ikhraj Qayd)
(
بيان قيد عائلي).
- Notarized petition (including Spousal Approval) EITHER in English* OR in Arabic*
from the wife requesting
Lebanese citizenship,
Spousal Approval should
be included in the same
statement.
- Proof of cohabitation*

One copy of the wife's Birth Certificate

One copy of the wife's passport showing the change in her last name

One copy of the Lebanese passport of the husband
- One copy
of Lebanese Marriage Certificate
- $20.00 money order payable to the Embassy of Lebanon
